Assistant Coach Nicole Venditte
Nicole Venditte was named an assistant coach for the East Carolina volleyball program in January of 2021.
In her first year on staff, Venditte helped the Pirates average an American Athletic Conference third-best 17.96 digs per set. She also had a hand in Bri Wood’s selection to the All-AAC First Team. Additionally, Venditte assisted in guiding ECU to its first victory over in-state opponent North Carolina since 1978 as East Carolina swept UNC inside Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.
Prior to arriving in Greenville, Venditte spent two years as an assistant coach at Shippensburg University, helping the Raiders to a 26-7 overall record and an at-large selection to the NCAA Division II Championship.
Venditte accepted her position at Shippensburg after eight successful seasons as the primary assistant coach at Midland University, a consistently nationally-ranked NAIA program in Nebraska. Working under the direction of head coach Paul Geisselman, Venditte was a key instructor on a Warrior squad that reached the NAIA National Quarterfinals four times – including two trips to the national semifinals.
Among her coaching responsibilities at Midland included the creation of practice plans, film breakdown, scouting, scheduling, travel coordination and fund-raising. She was also was tasked for several seasons with oversight of the team's strength and conditioning efforts.
With the Warriors, Venditte was twice named the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) West Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year. In 2016, Venditte was selected to the AVCA's "30 Under 30" List for her work as a young coach.
Venditte earned three Great Plains Athletic Conference Volleyball Assistant Coach of the Year awards (2013, 2015, 2016). Overall, she helped instruct 14 NAIA All-Americans, 17 All-Region performers and 53 NAIA Scholar Athletes during a tenure in which the Midland teams combined for a 172-43 record from 2013-18.
With Midland, Venditte served two years as a graduate assistant before being elevated to an assistant coach in 2013. She also spent six seasons as a club coach with Premier Volleyball, developing practice plans and directing teams at tournament.
As a collegiate player, Venditte lettered three years at Dana College.
Venditte earned her bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Elementary Education (K-12) from Midland in 2011.
